The Moot society is a newborn programme by the UCU Law Society 2020-2021, a novel idea of Dean Natukunda (Deputy Academics Secretary, UCULS). The Moot Society is under the governance of the UCU Law Society.
UCU School of Law has a vibrant active mooting culture and Moots and trial Advocacy are part of the law school curriculum. The essence of the Moot Society is to develop students’ interests in the mooting exercise, mentor term, break down the intricacies of legal Research, improve legal analysis skills, enhance mooting skills, boost confidence with the aim of transforming the students into exceptionally distinct mooters.
The Moot Society engages faculty of law members, UCU law school Alumni, student members, and other appropriate persons to ensure that the students are well acquainted with the mooting exercise. The society runs a mentorship programme wherein former senior moot students and required persons assist students which is executed in various ways including moot try out sessions upon which feedback is given and reacted on accordingly.
